Compared to last week, yearling heifers sold 12.00 higher.
Demand was good.
Drought conditions continue in the reporting regions, and some cattlemen 
have opted to market there would be grass cattle.
Also, the jump in the CME cattle boards has brought an upward trend 
to the market.
More than likely cattle in the drought areas will be hitting direct 
auctions, video and direct sales in the future.
Two commodities they need are grass and water and many pastures have 
neither right now.
Upward spike on feedlot sales this week.
Packers were needing cattle and it appears feedlots; market ready cattle 
are in tight supplies coming into May.
June live cattle on the CME continue to trade in the mid 250's and as 
this writing it was at 255.550.
Nebraska feedlots sold live sales 9.00 to 11.00 higher from 255.00 to 
257.00 and dressed sales sold 14.00 higher at mostly 400.00.
Hitting all time new highs in the slaughter steers and heifers within 
the state.
 
Supply included:  96.7% Feeder Cattle (28.4% Steers, 71.6% Heifers).
3.3% Replacement Cattle (100% Heifer Pairs).
Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 100%.
Unless otherwise noted, Feeder Cattle prices FOB based on net weights 
after a 2-3% shrink or equivalent, with a up to15 cent slide > 600 lbs.
