Compared to last week: Slaughter steers and heifers steady. Good demand for
steers and heifers again this week. A lighter offering as market ready
supplies are limited. The market was fairly active. Just 1 full load of
steers, 1 full load of heifers, balance part loads and stock trailer loads.
Weights continue to run heavy as cattle have performed extremely well over the
winter.
Slaughter lambs 10.00 to 35.00 lower. Feeder lambs sold with lower undertones.
Slaughter ewes steady to 5.00 lower, instances to 10.00 lower. Moderate to
good demand for slaughter lambs, good to very good for slaughter ewes, good
demand for feeder lambs. Many long strings of fat lambs, including full load
lots, along with numerous small packages.
