FEEDER CATTLE 6215 3205 6016
Compared to two weeks ago: Steer calves under 800 lbs steady to firm, 800 lbs
and heavier 5.00 to 20.00 higher. Heifer calves under 700 lbs generally
steady, instances of 10.00 to 15.00 higher on 600-650 lbs, over 700 lbs 5.00 to
20.00 higher. Yearling feeder steers steady to firm, yearling feeder heifers
2.00 higher. Very good demand for this very large offering of spring born
calves, many buyers were on the seats bidding and wiling to compete heavily to
buy these good calves. Many attractive calves offered, flesh condition light
to moderate. The yearling market was active as strings of yearlings are hard
to find. Yearlings were attractive, as flesh condition moderate, and offered
in full load lots and multiple load lots. As the cash fed cattle market
continues it's advance, and the cattle futures complex sees continued gains,
cattle feeders are once again feeling optimistic about the fat cattle market.
