Compared to last week: Feeder steers 750-850 lbs 8.00 to 10.00 lower, over 850
lbs 2.00 to 7.00 lower. Feeder heifers 3.00 to 8.00 lower. Very good demand
for all weights of steers and heifers but with the cash fed cattle trade
developing at lower money on Tuesday cattle feeders slowed in their pursuit of
feeder cattle. A few spring born calves were offered, the market was very
active on these in spite of how early it is and most cattle feeders being busy
with corn silage harvest. The market remains very active on the yearlings,
there was finally a little pressure to the straight up advance we've seen since
late spring.
