Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers unevenly steady. Very good
demand for all weights of steers and heifers. Very large auction receipts
again this week as feeder cattle producers continue their winter marketing. A
winter storm in the northern part of the state, but the rest of the state had
good weather to get cattle shipped to town. Cattle feeders were able to sell
fats around the 247.00 mark. The feeder cattle market is very active in the
auctions as there is great competition to get cattle bought. Cattle feeders
are needing to buy cattle but are becoming concerned with profitability at
these price levels.
