Compared to last week steers less than 500 lbs sold 20.00 higher, From 500 to
700 lbs sold steady to 10.00 higher and a flat 7 weight steer sold 3.00 higher.
Heifers sold unevenly steady on a light test of the market. Slaughter steers
and heifers sold steady with not enough slaughter cows from last week for a
market comparison. Demand was moderate to good. Odd that the calf market was
that high this week across the two reporting barns on the feeder cattle. Both
sale were held before Friday when another day of limit down trading occurred.
Overall, the market is still really good price wise a lot better than most
thought it might be.
