Compared to the feeder auction 2 weeks ago, 500 - 600 lb steer calves were
steady to 10.00 higher with yearling steer cattle 7.00 to 13. 00 higher. Heifer
trade today saw 550 - 650 lb calves 5.00 to 7.00 higher with yearling heifers
steady to 8.00 higher. Quality ran very deep in today's offering of green, new
crop feeder calves with many "off the cow". Demand was very good for today's
moderate supply. The next feeder cattle auction is Oct. 30.
