Compared to last week: Slaughter steers and heifers 1.00 to 2.00 higher. Good
demand for this nice offering of high quality grading, hard fed steers and
heifers. 6 full loads of steers, 3 full loads of heifers, balance part loads
and stock trailer loads. The market was fairly active as the cash trade in the
country continues to hold up to 245.00 and boxed beef prices continue to
advance. Weighing condition ran towards the full side, there were cattle
hauled in overnight however.
Slaughter lambs under 130 lbs 5.00 to 8.00 higher, over 130 lbs 10.00 to 13.00
higher. Good ewes 5.00 higher, other grades not well compared. Very good
demand for this large offering of traditional weight slaughter lambs. Good
demand for feeder lambs as there was one string of nearly 400 head offered.
