Compared to last week: Slaughter steers and heifers steady to 2.00 lower.
Good demand for this nice offering of steers and heifers. The market was
active, but not as active as a week ago. The quality grade remains very high
as the cattle are longtime fed. Weighing condition was pretty attractive for
buyers as many cattle were hauled in overnight. Lots of volatility in the
futures contracts in the past week but cattle sold readily this week. 6 full
loads of steers, 1 full load of heifers, balance part loads and stock trailer
loads.
Slaughter lambs steady to 5.00 higher. Slaughter ewes steady. Good demand for
all weights of slaughter lambs, very good demand for ewes.
