Compared to last week: Feeder steers weighing between 600 to 700 pounds traded
mostly 20.00 higher. Not enough comparable sales on feeder heifers or heavier
weight steers for a market trend but a higher undertone was noted. Steer
calves traded mostly 20.00 higher and heifers traded sharply higher with the
largest advances on 500-600 pound heifers. Trading activity was active on good
buyer demand. Slaughter cows and bulls traded mostly 5.00 to 6.00 higher.
Quality was mostly attractive with a large portion of the supply consisting of
the Texas Angus Calf Special, those cattle were tagged value added.
