Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold 15.00-25.00 higher. Steer
and heifer calves sold 30.00-40.00 higher with spots 50.00 higher. Demand was
very good on a moderate supply. ORS held their December Special Pre-Vac Sale
during their weekly Feeder Sale on Tuesday. Quality was above average, as could
be expected for a special sale. Most weight ranges gained what had been lost
the past couple of weeks with some drafts setting near record prices for the
barn. The market was extremely active with several buyers ringside that haven't
been seen in several months. Receipts were lighter than expected as ice and
snow fell across most of the area on Monday.
