Compared to last week, slaughter cows were steady to 2.00 lower and slaughter 
bulls were steady. Demand was good on a heavy supply of slaughter animals and 
moderate supply of replacement cattle. Slaughter animals outnumbered 
replacement cattle which hasn't been seen for several months. The top slaughter 
bull sold for 211.00/cwt. and the top slaughter cow sold for 175.00. On the 
replacement cattle side, the top pairs sold for 4400.00 and the top bred cows 
sold for 3150.00/head. The area saw its first frost of the season last week 
with a hard freeze expected Sunday and Monday.
