Compared to the last sale: Feeder cattle in the south sold mostly steady,
while limited sales in the north were 4.00-12.00 higher.
Demand moderate to good.
Seller interest moderated this week as cattle futures weakened this
week trading in the red multiple days.
Temperatures across the country have cooled giving many an early fall feel.
Folks in the south remain hot but hopefully will see some relief soon.
Fed beef prices in the north cheapened up while southern yards saw
mostly steady to firm money.
Demand remains very strong for beef despite the sharp rise in the cattle
complex.
Supply included 56 percent from South Central; 12 percent South East;
1 percent North East; 23 percent North Central, and 8 percent from the West.
Deliveries are current through May 2026.
Current delivery is 14 days from the last day of the sale and is up to
and including September 18th, 2025.
Supply included: 97% Feeder Cattle (52% Steers, 33% Heifers, 8% Beef/Dairy
Steers, 7% Beef/Dairy Heifers).
3% Replacement Cattle (30% Bred Cows, 70% Bred Heifers).
Feeder cattle over 600 lbs was 69%.
Feeder Cattle prices FOB based on net weights after a 0-4% pencil shrink
or equivalent, with up to a 30 cent slide > 600 lbs and up to a 50 cent slide
