Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold with a weak to lower undertone.
Demand was moderate for a light supply. There were a few consignments of long
weaned cattle but most were short weaned or off the cow. Cattle are under
pressure this week not only from the fall weather change but also political
chatter leading to sharply lower cattle futures. Slaughter cows sold steady to
2.00 higher.
