Slaughter bulls 4.00 higher. Demand for slaughter cattle good. Demand for
replacement cattle very good. Just for reference, steers weighing 500-550lbs
averaged 4.67 this week compared to 3.31 a year ago. Steers weighing 800-850lbs
averaged 3.42 this week versus 2.58 last year. Head counts for light 8 weights
were similar year over year at around 1000 head, but the light 5 weight supply
tightened considerably with 549 head sold this week compared to 1,711 head sold
the same week a year ago.
