FEEDER CATTLE 3000 7654 8891
Compared to last week: Steer and heifer calves 15.00-20.00 lower. The bulk of
supply consisted of unweaned bulls with no shots, and they traded at a sharp
discount. With the weather turning inconsistent and temperatures swinging up
and down, calf health is beginning to slip. Demand has softened for unweaned
calves carrying no shots. CME Feeder Cattle futures were down the limit today.
Speculation pointed to profit-taking and softening fundamentals as the driving
factors behind today's sharp drop in cattle futures.
