Compared to the last reported auction two weeks ago, steers and heifers traded
sharply higher, gaining back all of the last sales losses and then some.
Slaughter cows 9.00 to 15.00 lower. Mostly weaned calves on offer this week
with the majority coming to town with a full health history which proved
beneficial as buyers were pretty particular about two full rounds of shots in
light of the 10 day forecast. What buyers did shrug off was another day of
sharp losses in the cattle complex at the CME, pushing prices back to levels
seen before volatility became the new norm. Supply moderate, demand good.
