Northern Livestock video auction held their Annual Summertime classic 
sale over the last 3 days offering over 167,000 head.
Demand was very good throughout the 3 day sale.
Offerings were heavy as many new and returning consigners were seen.
Demand remained very good and very consistent throughout the long 3 day sale.
Ranchers took home the highest paychecks of their lifetime as feeders 
pushed to buy cattle to fill pen space across the country.
Tight supplies of cattle continue to drive prices higher.
Higher CME feeder contracts were seen daily as contracts hit record high 
prices day after day.
Demand for all classes of feeder cattle was good to very good across the board.
Demand for heifers was very good as replacement buyers and feeder battled 
over limited heifer offerings.
Demand for lightweight calves suitable to develop into yearlings was very good.
Weaned calf prices were not as strong this sale as all cattle sold on 
good demand and premiums were drowned out by very good demand for all offerings.
Record high prices were recorded for all classes.
Yearling demand was very good, with several long strings of yearling 
steers selling for over $3,100 per head.
The percentage of Po's was near nil this sale as buyers took advantage 
of record high prices.
Market activity was mostly very active throughout the three day sale.
Bidders were active bidding ringside, over the phone, as well as over 
the internet.
Calves weaned over 45 days were left untagged.
Most of these offerings sold for November and December delivery.
Cattle tagged as Value added were enrolled in two or more programs and 
had to be verified by a 3rd party.
The largest premiums given were for cattle sold as All Natural, NHTC 
and GAP combined.
Current delivery cattle deliver on or before August, 6th 2025.
 
Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (68% Steers, 32% Heifers).
0% Replacement Cattle (100% Bred Heifers).
Feeder cattle over 600 lbs was 61%.
Feeder Cattle prices FOB based on net weights after a 0-4% pencil shrink 
or equivalent, with a 6-28 cent slide > 600 lbs and 16-44 cent slide
