Compared to last week:  steers 400 to 699 lbs 10.00 to 15.00 lower.  Heifer 
calves 400 to 599 lbs 10.00 to 15.00 lower.  A very large offering of calves 
today with many, many packages and quite a few loads offered, all off the cow.  
Good to very good demand seen this offering.  Quality varied greatly, 
especially on packages, from plain to attractive.  Most calves in light to 
moderate flesh and had at least some preconditioning, calves without a solid 
shot record sell at the lower end of a wide price spectrum.  Today's sale 
featured Red Angus cattle and there were several bull breeders in the seats 
buying back their genetics, especially in heifers.  An active market with 
plenty of buyers, farmer feeders, and bull breeders competing for cattle, 
however, the last few days of uncertainty in the futures complex have led to 
much more caution than seen last week.  Two big feeder cattle sales next week 
with a seasonal calf sale on Tuesday, October 28, and regular sale on Thursday,
