First large feeder cattle sale offering both spring born calves and yearlings, 
recent price comparisons not available.  Very good demand for this nice 
offering of spring born calves, several large strings of calves including full 
load lots.  The calf market was very active as there were many buyers ready to 
buy these good light calves.  Good demand for the large offering of yearling 
steers and heifers, many long strings of yearlings, offered in load lots, 
including 1 string of 650 steers offered in multiple load lots.  Flesh 
condition mostly moderate to moderate plus on the steers, the heifers were 
carrying plenty of flesh.  The market was not as active on the heifers, due to 
their flesh condition, much more active on the more attractive fleshed steers.  
Another day of volatility seen in the cattle futures complex, which is causing 
cattle feeders to feel less certain in the direction of the fat cattle market.
