Compared to last week, steer calves under 650 lbs and heifer calves under 600
lbs were mostly unweaned/short weaned, but good quality calves and sold with a
steady to firm undertone, there were 4 pot loads of 650-700 lb heifers that
sold fully steady to firm with last week's pot loads of same weight and kind.
Demand was very good on a light to moderate offering. Overall calves mostly
unweaned sold in small groups with a few bigger groups sold with good demand as
quality was very good with most selling with a vaccination program behind them.
Pot loads of heifers weighing 640-685 lbs sold with good demand with several
pot loads selling with good weighing conditions and traded on and active
market. Stick out sales included the pot loads of heifers with a pot load thin
weighing 640 lbs at 390.75, pot load 646 lbs at 384.75, pot load 665 lbs at
379.85 and pot load weighing 669 lbs at 378.50. Slaughter cows were lightly
tested on a light offering.
