Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold uneven, but the majority of the
trend was from steady to 7.00 lower. There were a few instances where the
undertone was higher, mainly on the 550-625 lbs heifers and 400-450 lb steer
calves. Demand was moderate for a fairly typical fall run where condition and
quality ran a wide range. Cattle futures have found some support and somewhat
stabilized so far this week after Monday's limit up move. Slaughter cows sold
4.00-10.00 lower.
