Compared to last week, a much larger offering of feeder cattle this week with
steer calves under 700 lbs all selling with a sharply higher undertone with
700-750 lbs trading 10.00-14.00 higher and over 800 lbs selling firm to 7.00
higher. Heifer calves and yearlings all sold with a sharply higher undertone
on limited comparisons from last week. Demand was very good on a moderate
supply. Overall quality ran very deep on the calves and yearlings with one
consignment of 500 head of top quality feeders selling mostly in pot load lots
trading with very good demand. There were several large groups, part loads
and four pot loads of 800-900 lb steers all selling on and active market.
Several stick out sales included 100 hd of 532 lb steers at 440.00, 38 steers
563 lbs at 414.00, pot load 87 steers 608 lbs at 400.00, and pot load steers
653 lbs at 379.50. Slaughter cows sold steady.
