Compared to last week, a strong offering of weaned calves was met with solid
demand, including several large drafts that helped support the market. Demand
for unweaned calves was noticeably lighter. Feeder steers traded $5.00-$10.00
higher, driven by a good supply of quality weaned calves. Feeder bulls saw
$5.00-$10.00 lower prices, with limited numbers of weaned calves available.
Feeder heifers were $10.00-$12.00 higher, supported by a strong showing of
weaned offerings. Slaughter cattle sold on a light test, with limited
comparable sales reported.
