Compared to last sale: (9/22/25) Feeder lambs under 90 lbs sold mostly
10.00-12.00 higher with instances of 15.00-20.00 higher seen at times. Lambs
over 90 lbs sold steady to 3.00 lower. Demand for feeder lambs was mostly good
for moderate to heavy offerings. Private feeders were the driver this sale as
farmer feeder and private feeders both pushed light lambs higher. Too few lambs
were purchased for ethnic slaughter to develop any market trend. Ethnic demand
was mostly light this sale with most ethnic buyers absent. Demand was constant
throughout the sale as buyers stayed late into the afternoon to fill loads.
Market activity was mostly active this sale with rapid bidding seen. Demand for
slaughter ewes was mostly moderate. Slaughter ewes sold generally steady on
good ewes, with the exception of black face ewes which sold mostly 10.00 lower,
mostly due to lighter demand from ethnic buyers. Utility and cull ewes sold
mostly 4.00-6.00 lower. Slaughter kids sold generally steady to 5.00 higher,
however most goats were purchased to feed this week as demand from farmer
feeder was very strong. Feeding kids sold sharply higher with most sales
15.00-25.00 higher. Very good demand was seen for feeding kids this week. Kid
quality was mostly average this week and overall better than last sale. Goat
offerings were moderate to heavy.
