Compared to last sale: (1/19/26) Feeder lambs were all too lightly tested to
develop an accurate market trend, however lower undertones were noticed. Feeder
buyers were mostly absent this week as too few lambs were consigned to start
loads of feeder lambs. Most lambs were purchased for slaughter this week as a
result. Demand for slaughter lambs was mostly good with several buyers in the
market buying this class. Slaughter lambs sold mostly 20.00 higher on all lambs
over 90 lbs. Ethnic buyers purchased a higher quality lamb this week as most
feeding buyers were not in the market. Demand for hair lambs was good several
large consignments of attractive quality hair lambs were seen this sale. Hair
lambs sold steady to 15.00 higher than last sale on all weights. Market
activity was mostly active this sale with rapid bidding seen. Demand for
Slaughter ewes was mostly very good. Slaughter ewes sold mostly 5.00-8.00
higher on good ewes, Utility ewes sold sharply higher with most sales
30.00-40.00 higher. Cull ewes were all too lightly tested to develop an
accurate market trend, however higher undertones were noticed. Goats sold on
mostly good to very good demand. Slaughter kids sold 15.00-30.00 higher on all
weight classes. Demand for yearling goats was very good with several ethnic
buyers looking for older goats for harvest. Demand for feeding goats continues
to be very good. Feeding kids sold mostly 30.00 higher with several ranchers in
the stands buying feeding kids. Kid quality was mostly average this week. Goat
offerings were light to moderate.
