Compared to last week: Slaughter steers 4.00 to 5.00 lower, heifers 8.00 to
10.00 lower. Moderate to good demand for this offering of hard fed, high
quality grading steers and heifers. The market was under pressure this week,
yet there was still decent activity. Packer buyers are trying to get cattle
bought lower as they point to the much lower Aug CME Live Cattle contract, but
two way buyers are willing to step in and push the bids and buy some cattle.
Four full loads of steers, 1 full load of heifers, balance part loads and stock
trailer loads.
Slaughter lambs 5.00 to 13.00 higher. Slaughter ewes 20.00 to 30.00 higher,
instances to 40.00 higher. Good demand for traditional weight slaughter lambs.
Good demand for feeder lambs, very good demand for slaughter ewes.
