Compared to last week: Not enough comparable sales on steers or heifers for a
market trend but a lower undertone was noted. However, quality was a little
plainer than a week ago, which accounted for some of the decline noted on
prices. Trading activity was moderate on moderate buyer demand. Slaughter
cows and bulls traded mostly 1.00 to 4.00 higher. Both Live and Feeder Cattle
futures were sharply lower today following a brief jump yesterday.
