Compared to last week: Not enough comparable sales on all classes of steers
for a market trend, but a lower undertone was noted on heavier weight
yearlings. Heifers traded mostly 5.00 to 7.00 higher on limited comparable
sales. Quality was mixed. A really nice set replacement quality heifers with a
good weigh up sold with notable buyer demand, as some producers are slowly
trying to increase their herds. Trading activity was moderate to active on
good buyer demand. Slaughter cows and bulls traded mostly 3.00 higher. Hotter
than average temperatures have returned to the forecast, with a much needed
chance of rain forecasted later this week.
