Compared to last week's light run, feeder steers and heifers were not well
tested however undertones were steady to weak. Steer and heifers calves over
600 lbs. were 3.00-6.00 higher while lighter weight calves were 4.00-8.00
lower. Demand was moderate on a moderate supply. One stick-out draft was 60
head of steers weighing 608 lbs. which sold for 452.00/cwt. The quality of the
offering was average with buyers being very selective. It is getting to be that
time of the year where excessive hair is discounted as much, if not more than,
short/unweaned and non-vaccinated calves.
