Compared to last week, slaughter cows were 3.00-5.00 lower and slaughter bulls
were steady to 2.00 lower. Demand was moderate on a very light supply. The top
slaughter bull sold for 200.00/cwt. and the top slaughter cow sold for
154.00/cwt. On the replacement side the top pair sold for 4350.00/pair and the
top bred cow sold for 3800.00/head. Hot weather is keeping cattle at home, as
producers are holding out for cooler temperatures to load and bring cattle to
market.
