Compared to last sale: (4/20/26) Feeder lambs were all too lightly tested last
sale to develop any market trend. Most lambs that were purchased to feed this
week were not fleshy enough for immediate slaughter. Most of these lambs were
purchased to feed for ethnic slaughter at a later date. A smaller crowd of
buyers were on hand this sale and buyers showed some resistance to prices seen
last sale. Most lambs were purchased for slaughter this sale as the Eid-al-Adha
is coming up May 27th-May 30th. Demand for slaughter lambs was mostly moderate
to good. Slaughter lambs sold mostly 30.00-45.00 lower on lambs under 90 lbs,
lambs over 90 lbs sold mostly 10.00-15.00 lower. Demand for hair lambs was good
to very good. One set of lambs that had been on feed sold on very good demand.
Hair lambs were not well compared this sale. Market activity was mostly
moderate this sale. Demand for Slaughter ewes was mostly moderate to good.
Slaughter ewes sold mostly 15.00-20.00 lower on good ewes, Utility ewes and
cull ewes sold mostly 5.00-15.00 lower. Ewe quality this sale was mostly
average. Goats sold on moderate demand. Slaughter kids under sold mostly
25.00-50.00 lower, with the exception of 60-75 lbs kids which sold steady to
15.00 lower as buyers showed the best demand for this weight class of slaughter
goats. Demand for feeding goats was lighter this sale as buyers showed lighter
demand for all goats. Feeding kids sold sharply lower in a narrow comparison.
Kid quality was mostly average to attractive this week. Goat offerings were
light to moderate.
