Compared to last week, slaughter steers were 2.00 higher and Holstein slaughter
steers were 3.00 higher. Slaughter heifers were 6.00 lower and Holstein
slaughter heifers were trending higher based on a limited comparison.
Slaughter cows were mostly steady to 1.00 higher and Holstein slaughter cows
were 9.00 higher. Slaughter bulls were 10.00 higher and Holstein slaughter
bulls were 8.00 higher. Choice/prime slaughter lambs were mostly 7.00 lower
with good demand. No comparison available on slaughter kids due to a limited
comparison, but good demand was noted. Note: There is a special sheep and
goat sale scheduled for Tuesday, May 19 starting at 11am with the regular
weekly auction on Wednesday.
