Compared to last Wednesday the feeder market was lower with an average quality
offering. Feeder steers were unevenly steady ranging from 3.00 higher to 5.00
lower with a good supply, while the feeder heifers were mostly 3.00 to 8.00
lower with moderate demand. The continued decline in the futures market has
limited some buyers interest and the premiums they are willing to pay for
quality feeder cattle, while drastically increasing the discounts on plainer
and off colored cattle severely. Slaughter cows and bulls were 2.00 to 4.00
lower with a good supply and moderate demand.
