Missouri Direct Hay Report
Released on August 21, 2025
Lack of rain over most of southern half of the state has resulted in
just over 50 percent of the state showing on the latest drought monitor.
Pasture conditions for the state are still well above normal but there
is a lot more yellow in the south than green now.
There has been scattered showers this week but nothing widespread.
At this point conditions aren't bad enough to require any feeding.
Cooler temperatures in the forecast will help but more moisture to get
pastures back to growing would be very welcomed.
There continues to be several reports of army worms scattered around
which are extremely unwelcomed and doing a lot of damage in areas where
they show up.
Hay movement has been slow, prices are steady to weak, supplies are heavy,
and demand is light.
