This past week, demand was light, and prices were steady.
Trade remains slow to moderate with most trades occurring in the southwest
region.
According to the U.S.
Drought Monitor for the week of August 5th, A broken pattern of heavy
rainfall - with upwards of 3 inches reported in spots - prevailed from
northern Kansas through much of the Dakotas.
The improvements left severe drought confined to part of south-central
Nebraska and adjacent Kansas, southwestern Nebraska, and a small area
in south-central South Dakota.
The categorical percent area of abnormally dry conditions (D0) increased
to 11.5%, Moderate drought (D1) decreased to 3.5%, Severe drought
(D2) decreased to less than 1%, and no Extreme drought (D3) or Exceptional
drought (D4) was recorded.
