Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were 3.00-6.00 lower. Five and
Six weight steers were steady to 6.00 higher while like weight heifers were
4.00-8.00 lower. Demand was moderate on a moderate supply. The offering only
had three drafts over 25 head with few drafts comparable to last week's
high-quality offering. The largest draft was 82 head of 597 lb. heifers which
brought 382.00/cwt. The quality of the offering on the Video Auction was above
average with almost as many head on video as going through the ring. Bidding,
including online, was brisk creating a very active video market. Parts of the
area had some much-needed rain over the weekend with frost also being reported.
Much cooler temperatures and more rain is forecasted through the weekend.
