Compared to the last week, feeder steers and heifers sold 6.00-8.00 higher.
Steer and heifer calves sold 10.00-15.00 higher with spots 20.00 higher. Demand
was very good on a moderate supply. Cooler weather and lower humidity helped
receipts to return to more normal levels. Cash prices for feeders and calves
continue to climb with positive gains on the future boards and higher slaughter
cattle prices. The USDA's Cattle on Feed report, released Friday, had
Inventories down 2 percent, Placements down 6 percent and Marketings down 6
percent all of which helped to keep market bullish.
