Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were 2.00-4.00 higher. Steer
calves sold 4.00-8.00 higher with spots 16.00 higher. Heifer calves were
6.00-12.00 higher with spots 20.00 higher. Demand was good on light supply.
Cooler temperatures and rain across the area helped demand for calves this week
with most of the offering in smaller drafts. The largest draft of the day was
31 head of 626 lb. steers which sold for 367.00/cwt. The cattle futures traded
sharply higher as corn futures traded lower.
