REPLACEMENT CATTLE 1647 1019 0
A large crowd was ringside Friday evening for the Special Replacement Cattle
sale at the Ozarks Regional Stockyard. The last special was in September with
1019 head. A year ago had 1613 head. Demand was very good on a heavy supply.
There was an outstanding selection of bred heifers with over 400 head in the
offering averaging 3599.00/head. The top draft was 14 head weighing 1012 lb. in
the 2nd/3rd stage selling for 4300.00/head. Over 650 bred cows were in the
offering with 51 head of M/L#1 cows averaging 3636.00/head. The top bred cow
sold for 4400.00/head. There were over 160 pairs sold with the top draft being
a 3 in 1 deal of young cows in the first stage with 200-300 lb. calves by their
side selling for 5500.00/pair. There were 20 replacement bulls in the offering
averaging 3912.00/head with the top bull selling for 5300.00/head. The market
was very active with aggressive bidding all night. Buyers were happy to give
these replacement cattle a new home.
