Compared to last week, slaughter cows were steady and bulls were 2.00 lower.
Demand was good on a moderate supply. The top slaughter bull sold for
210.00/cwt. and the top slaughter cow sold for 178.00/cwt. The top pair sold
for 3400.00 and the top bred cow sold for 3300.00/head. Income from cattle
sales was higher than usual this year, increasing the tax liability for
producers. This Friday's Special Cow and Bull Sale will be an opportunity for
cattlemen to make some capital purchases. The consignment includes 200 Blk/BWF
Fancy Bred Heifers, 150 3-5 year old Blk/BWF Bred Cows, 200 6-8 year old
Blk/BWF Bred Cows, 45 Fancy Red Angus Cows with 20 pairs, 71 Beefmaster Bred
