SLAUGHTER CATTLE 140 104 85
Compared to the last reported market four weeks ago, steers and heifers traded
sharply higher, with the exception of load lots of yearling steers selling
sharply lower. Slaughter cows 4.00 to 7.00 higher. The lower trend Is less a
reflection of the market and more a reminder of some legitimate yet inflated
market activity at the previous sale four weeks ago. Overall, the local trade
shrugged off bearish industry rumors and the resulting near limit lower futures
early (before reversing) and pushed prices higher steadily throughout the day.
Supply heavy, demand good.
