Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves sold 5.00-20.00 higher with
bigger groups this week for buyers to put together. The quality was very good
throughout the day, with the vast majority being fall-born calves right off the
cow. Two loads of 9 weight steers sold as well. Demand was good to very good
for a heavy supply. Cash fed cattle sold 1.00-3.00 higher on Thursday but the
board was modestly lower, however neither seemed to affect the market much one
way or the other and buyers were aggressive with positive fundamentals still.
Slaughter cows sold steady to 3.00 lower, bulls 3.00-10.00 higher.
