Compared to last week feeder steers and heifers under 500 lbs sold mostly 10.00
to 20.00 lower. Steers and heifers over 500 lbs sold un-even to steady with
weaned cattle over 500 lbs holding their own to last week. A larger offering
of new crop calves pushed the market lower this week. With summertime
temperatures approaching buyers were discounting long haired and un-weaned
cattle that aided the lower trend. Slaughter cows were 2.00 to 10.00 higher
and slaughter bulls were not well tested. Demand was good and supply was good.
