Compared to the last special three weeks ago, steer calves weighing 400-500 lbs
were lightly tested, with 500-550 lb steers and heifers both trading
10.00-15.00 higher, 550-600 lb steers sold fully steady to firm, with 600-650
lb steers selling steady to 10.00 higher and over 650 lbs sold with a higher
undertone on last sales limited offering of yearling steers. Heifer calves
weighing 450-500 lbs sold 7.00-10.00 higher, with 550-600 lb heifers selling
steady to firm and 600-650 lbs trading with a higher undertone, 5 pot loads
(376 hd) of 723-742 lb heifers off the same consignment as last special and
weighing near the same sold firm to 6.00 higher. The stick out sales of pot
loads of heifers included 4 pot loads averaging 729 lbs at 322.10, pot load
weighing 742 lbs at 316.25 and pot load of steers weighing 733 lbs at 338.25.
Demand was good on and overall good quality offering of calves and yearlings.
Slaughter cows sold 8.00-14.00 higher than the last sale three weeks ago.
