Compared to last week, true comparisons were somewhat limited but steers and
heifers sold unevenly steady. Demand was moderate to good for a moderate
supply. Feeder Cattle futures started lower on Tuesday, but surged later in the
day to close with sharp gains while live cattle saw moderate gains. Just like
the weather, the runs of cattle are in a transition period with more calves
starting to show up but still some summer grass cattle as well. Slaughter cows
sold firm to 5.00 higher.
