Compared to the last reported sale three weeks ago, similar sales of steers
sold 10.00-20.00 higher with some calves selling up to 30.00 higher. Heifers
sold firm to 10.00 higher. Following weeks of negative news and a down market,
cattle found a foothold with the fed market stabilizing and cattle futures
trading higher for several days in a row. Market fundamentals have remained
positive and the recent turnaround has given confidence to the market. Supply
was heavy with a nice run of yearlings and demand was good. Slaughter cows and
bulls sold 3.00-10.00 lower than three weeks ago.
