Compared to last week, total receipts were slightly lower. Feeder cattle
offerings were reduced, while offerings of replacement cattle increased. There
was a lighter run of lightweight, weaned calves in the feeder supply this week.
Feeder steers traded $10.00-$15.00 higher. Lightweight heifers weighing 300-600
lbs traded $7.00-$8.00 lower, while heifers weighing 600-800 lbs traded $12.00
higher. Slaughter cattle traded $5.00-$10.00 higher on the week. Replacement
cattle saw several high-quality offerings, with the highlight being a group of
F1 crossbred cow-calf pairs that generated strong buyer interest and topped at
$5,300 per pair.
