Compared to last week, feeder heifers sold unevenly steady with exception of
those weighing over 600 lbs. 15.00 to 25.00 lower. Feeder bulls weighing up to
400 lbs. sold 5.00 to 30.00 lower, with those weighing between 400 and 600 lbs.
mostly steady, and those weighing over 600 lbs. 12.00 to 18.00 lower. No
market trends available for feeder steers due to limited comparable receipts
from this week's sale. Lighter receipts and decreased demand for feeder cattle
was noted for this week, as both were inflated last week due to the inclusion
of the regional qualifier for the Livestock Marketing Association World
Livestock Auctioneer Competition. Slaughter cows sold steady to 3.00 higher
with slaughter bulls 3.00 lower. Replacement offerings for today's sale
included a group of 18 high-quality bred heifers from one producer, with
strong demand for replacements females noted.
