Friday was the second day of Green City Livestock's Annual Thanksgiving
Special, featuring home raised calves Friday after Tuesday's yearling sale.
Compared to the last tested market three weeks ago, steer and heifer calves
traded sharply higher, mostly 10.00 to 25.00 higher, with some weights tacking
on even sharper advances. Recovery sure seemed to be in full effect on Friday,
as if the recent set backs in the cattle sector never happened. Quality was
outstanding throughout the day and for the most part condition was too, even
with a high number of unweaned calves on offer. A couple extra buyers in the
seats didn't hurt anything either. Supply moderate, demand good to very good.
